Great Swim is Back with a Splash!

This might be something a little different for you for 2021. It’s brilliant to be delivering positive event news as it was a year ago we announced the 2020 events cancelation (see here). The team at Great Swim is delighted to announce that the John West Great Swim Series is returning to two fantastic locations this summer!

The first event to take place will be the iconic John West Great North Swim, which is set in the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District National Park. Brockhole on Windermere offers swimmers a safe and stunning place to take on an open water challenge. Perfect for swimmers of all abilities, this is the perfect place to get away and enjoy a day in the great outdoors.

Great Swim

A week later the John West Great East Swim returns to the serene setting of Alton Water in Suffolk. With a wide range of distances to choose from, this event is popular with families and young swimmers. Although if it’s adventure you’re after, you can set your sights on the Great East SwimRun event, also taking place on the same day.

With indoor pools in England open once again, now is the perfect time to set yourself an open water swim challenge. There’s plenty of time to build up your swimming confidence and fitness between now and June…
