The CannonBall Run Challenge is GO!

Virtual events this year have had an interesting part to play and the challenge now is to make them a bit more interesting and more of a challenge than popping out to run a quick 5K. Here’s an interesting idea and maybe time to dust off the old VHS and watch the Burt Reynolds classic of the same name.

Run across the U.S. in this virtual foot and bike race! Old Dominion Racing is giving you the opportunity to see who can keep up with Mike Wardian, American marathoner/ultra-marathoner who continues to #embarrassgravity and defy expectations. The CannonBall Run Challenge is the first installment of the Mike Wardian Outdoor Challenge Series. Run solo or join forces with up to 8 teammates to virtually race across the U.S., New York to California. You have one full year to do 2,966 miles — from September 1, 2020 until September 1, 2021. Half option available as well (1,483 miles).

Mike Wardian

Each registrant will log their times into the official time-keeping website. Watch your progress as you run and/or bike coast-to-coast. Get the “Rage On” Medal if you finish in six months! Goodies include t-shirt, athletic mask, finishers medal, monthly raffles, social media shoutouts and extra prizes, plus route easter eggs/bullseyes. Old Dominion Racing will submit a portion of each registration fee to the GoFundMe site for Tommy Rivers, #run4rivs.

Find out a bit more about Michael Wardian in the Podfollow Podcast here.

This is not a paywall. RUN247 is still free to read.
