After an amazing response from schools and youngsters from around the region in 2019, The Running Bee Foundation has announced the return of the hugely-popular Dr Ron Hill 7 Mile Challenge!

They’ve again joined forces with Tameside Schools Sports Partnership to bring the challenge back. This year, the Foundation has created a downloadable Tour of Tameside themed map. The map includes seven locations and a Mo the Bee cut out. The Foundation is asking children to guide Mo to each location after every mile they run!

Having received lots of photos, videos and social posts showing how everyone’s completing their 7 miles, great work and a huge well done from Mo & all the team at The Running Bee!

Please keep sharing your stories and tag them @TheRunningBee

They are making the map accessible to all, so if you’d like to download your very own Dr Ron Hill 7 Mile Challenge map, you can find one at the link here.

Time is Virtually Up!

Current circumstances has put the hugely popular Tour of Tameside on hold until 2021 … which is why this year they decided to take things Virtual! The Virtual Tour of Tameside allows runners to complete the full tour, or individual stages if you prefer, from the comfort and safety of your own home or area (sticking to social distancing guidelines of course).

This is not a paywall. RUN247 is still free to read.

You can find out more and book your place on the virtual run at our official event page here. But BEE quick! You only have until the 14th of June to complete it, so if you haven’t yet started you’d better get buzzing! All participants will receive their very own Virtual Tour of Tameside medal.

As always, all profits from Running Bee Foundation events go back to the communities we serve to help promote active, healthy lifestyles and tackle the ongoing issue of childhood obesity.
