Here’s a charity event that’s a walk or a run. The Running Bee Foundation takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough within 12 hours – and is looking for keen fundraisers to lace up their boots or trainers and take on the challenge.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is 24 miles and includes 1585m of ascent, making it the perfect goal for individuals or groups of friends and work colleagues to test themselves, all while raising vital funds for The Foundation.

Who are Running Bee?

The Running Bee Foundation provide grants to community initiatives across Manchester and the North West, and help to promote health and wellbeing and the fight to tackle and reduce childhood obesity.

On Friday 28th May 2021, walkers will meet in Horton in Ribblesdale and set off at 8am, led by fully-qualified and highly-experienced guides. The trail will lead hikers through part of the beautiful Pennine range, encircling the head of the River Ribble Valley and offer beautiful views of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

It costs £30 per person to get involved, with a minimum fundraising target of £100pp. All participants will receive a brand-new Running Bee Foundation charity t-shirt, Enervit products and Yorkshire Three Peaks completion certificate. Hikers will have to make their own way to the start, but will be guided and led throughout the challenge.

The Running Bee’s Chair of Trustees Carl Austin-Behan OBE DL said: “This is an entirely new and unique event from us at The Running Bee, and we are incredibly excited to see fundraisers old and new get involved and take on the Challenge.

“All profits raised from participants will go straight back into the Foundation, helping health and wellbeing initiatives and local communities #BeeHappyBeeHealthyBeeHappy.”
