Not strictly running related but the area is a perfect location for getting off road and hitting the trails on foot. Plas y Brenin is running (pun intended!) a prize draw to celebrate 65 years of outdoors activity.

This year, National Outdoor Centre Plas y Brenin is celebrating 65 years of helping people of all ages and skill levels get active in the outdoors.

Whilst the activities might have changed over the years, from horse riding to mountain biking, their love of adventure and commitment to educating people about the benefits of the outdoors, along with helping nurture skills and confidence in the outdoors has never wavered.

Based in Snowdonia

Founded in 1955, Plas y Brenin is a world-renowned provider of adventure sports training. From a base in the scenic heart of Snowdonia, Plas y Brenin’s work is multi-facetted, from providing accessible opportunities for all to experience the outdoors and discover their sense of adventure, to developing inspiring coaches and leaders in adventure sport.

The centre also offers an extensive programme of personal skill development courses in rock climbing, hillwalking and mountaineering, kayaking, canoeing, sea kayaking and mountain biking, enabling those to develop their skills further, regardless of their skill level. The centre also delivers a diverse and vibrant events programme, with adventure talks, environmental lectures, mountain safety lessons and sector-leading conferences.

Win an adventure break

To mark this milestone, Plas y Brenin is running a prize draw offering a number of exciting experiences, regardless of experience, skill, and age.
